Tunisia midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has officially left Manchester United to join Burnley after signing a four-year deal.

Championship side Burnley have officially announced the permanent signing of Tunisia midfielder Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United, who has signed a contract at Turf Moor until 2028.

Mejbri, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, becomes new Burnley head coach Scott Parker’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window, with the aim of winning promotion back to the Premier League in just one year.

The 21-year-old has put pen to paper over a four-year deal at Turf Moor to become the Clarets’ eighth signing of the summer.

“I’m very excited,” he told the club site. “Very happy to be here and I can’t wait to see the fans.

“I have played against Burnley before at Turf Moor and the atmosphere was amazing.

“After speaking to (Scott Parker), the project sounded good to me and hopefully we can make success.”

The midfielder began his youth career in France, joining Monaco’s Academy ranks in 2018.

Ufabet Sports, a British media outlet, reported that Burnley will pay Manchester United a base fee of £5.4 million for Mejbri, plus a further £4 million in add-ons, according to the agreed terms.

Mejbri has experience in the Championship UFABET with Birmingham City in the 2022-23 season, playing as a main player in 41 games in all competitions, while last season he was loaned to Sevilla, a Spanish La Liga team, in the second half, playing only 6 games without success, causing the 20 million euro purchase option to not be used.
